St. Nicholas day with Christmas market
St. Nicholas day with the Christmas market is an event organized by the Civic association Hiadlovčan and local volunteers in early December. It´s held at the Community house and is intended mainly for children. There are various activities prepared for children, for example gingerbread decorating or making of Christmas decorations. Parents and other visitors can purchase a variety of home made products that are sold in the Community house (scented candles, Christmas wreaths, Christmas ornaments, wooden products...). There is also a refreshments area that offers Christmas delicacies (gingerbread cookies, sweets) and punch (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Every year, children from the local Elementary school and preschool prepare interesting performances, which is the highlight of the evening along with a visit from St. Nicholas, who gives away little presents to all the children (gift packs filled with fruit, nuts and various sweets).
